Snook: These hard-fighting linesiders are a favorite among local anglers. Known for their explosive strikes and acrobatic jumps, snook can be found lurking around mangroves, docks, and other structure. They're most active during the warmer months and put up a fight that'll test your skills and your gear.
Sheepshead: Don't let their striped appearance fool you – these crafty fish are masters of bait-stealing. Sheepshead hang around structures like pilings and reefs, using their human-like teeth to crush crustaceans. They're a year-round target that requires finesse and patience to catch, but they're well worth the effort for their tasty fillets.
Redfish: Also known as red drum, these copper-colored beauties are a staple of inshore fishing. Redfish love to cruise the flats and edges of grass beds, often revealing their presence with their distinctive tail-out feeding behavior. They're known for their strong runs and are excellent on the dinner table.
Black Grouper: While more commonly associated with offshore fishing, we sometimes encounter juvenile black grouper in inshore waters. These ambush predators hang around structure and put up a stubborn fight when hooked. Landing a black grouper is always a thrill, and they're prized for their firm, white flesh.
Whether you're looking to bend a rod, fill the cooler, or just enjoy a few hours on the water, our 4-hour inshore trip has got you covered. Capt. Sonny was not pleasant to my family. I know the weather was not good and it seemed like he did not want to be out fishing that day. He has to remember that not everyone is a pro fisherperson. The first mate was nice at least. I really feel bad that my family came down to visit and the experience was not good. I will not be using him again.

Embarked on a trip with Captain Sonny, accompanied by three adults and three kids, five of whom had limited fishing experience. Captain Sonny displayed remarkable patience, expertly untangling lines and baiting hooks. He never showed any signs of frustration, ensuring we not only found fish but also ensured everyone had an enjoyable time. Highly recommended!

Sonny was a great host and great company. Our fishing spots were limited as there was a lot of wind that day. Still, Sonny put us on fish and made sure it was a great experience for us. If you're thinking about booking a trip, definitely do it. You will really enjoy yourself.

Black grouper are bruisers, averaging 15-30 pounds but sometimes topping 100. You'll find them hanging around deep reefs and wrecks offshore. They're ambush predators, using those big bucket mouths to inhale prey whole. Summer and fall are prime seasons as they move to shallower structures. Anglers love targeting black grouper for the sheer power - hook one and get ready for a battle as it tries to dive back into the rocks. They're also prized for their firm, white flesh. Live bait like pinfish or blue runners work great. Here's a pro tip: when you feel that first thump, reel fast and lift your rod tip to get the fish's head turned up and away from structure. Otherwise, you might lose your catch (and tackle) to the rocks below.

Redfish are one of our most popular inshore targets, typically running 5-15 pounds. You'll spot them tailing in shallow grass flats or cruising near oyster bars. Fall is prime time as they school up, but we catch them year-round. Anglers love sight-fishing for reds - it's a rush when you see that copper-colored body and spot-on-the-tail. They put up a great fight too, with strong runs in shallow water. Redfish are also excellent eating when slot-sized. For best results, work topwater lures or gold spoons along grass edges early morning. My local secret? On hot days, look for them in potholes on the flats - those slightly deeper depressions in the grass where they cool off. Cast well ahead and work your bait right into the pothole.

Sheepshead are quirky fish that'll test your skills. Most run 2-5 pounds, but we occasionally see monsters over 10. Look for them around oyster bars, pilings, and other structure - they love crushing barnacles and crustaceans with those human-like teeth. Winter and early spring are prime sheepshead seasons as they school up to spawn. Anglers enjoy the challenge of hooking these bait stealers, plus they're fantastic eating. Use light tackle with a small, sharp hook. My go-to rig is a #4 hook with a bit of fiddler crab. Drop it right next to pilings and wait for that subtle bite. Set the hook fast and firm - sheepshead have tough mouths. Patience and timing are key with these convict-striped tricksters!

Snook are a prized catch around here, typically running 1-3 feet long. You'll find them lurking near mangroves, docks, and other structures in shallow inshore waters. They're ambush predators, so look for them hanging out in current seams waiting to pounce on baitfish. Spring and fall are prime seasons as they move between inshore and offshore areas. Anglers love targeting snook for their hard-fighting nature - they'll make blistering runs and acrobatic jumps when hooked. Their white meat is also excellent eating when in season. One local tip: try free-lining live bait like pilchards or pinfish near structure early in the morning for your best shot at a big one. Just be ready for that initial explosive strike!
